Second Start Tech is a community technology initiative operated by Identity Digital Solutions with a straightforward goal: collect old computers, give them a useful second life, and pass them on to children and charities who can’t afford them.

before you give.
What should I do with my personal data?
Back up anything you want to keep. Sign out of accounts and remove activation locks or business management restrictions before handover. Never share passwords with us. Ask about the data-removal process before donating; a wiping certificate is not currently promised.
Can I donate a computer that doesn’t work?
Tell us what’s wrong with it first. Some devices may be repairable, but we can’t promise to accept every computer. Please wait for confirmation before arranging delivery.
Can I request a computer for my child or charity?
The request planner helps you outline your needs. A parent, carer or organisation representative should make requests for children. Don’t include children’s names or sensitive documents. Allocation will depend on suitable devices becoming available.
Where do I drop off a donation?
Drop-offs
Donations are welcome by prior arrangement at our primary location in Austral, NSW. Contact us to confirm a suitable time and receive the drop-off address.
Pickups
Complimentary collection can be arranged for business batches or multiple devices across the Greater Sydney area. Contact us to confirm availability and coordinate collection.
